All of our dogs are flea/wormed, fully vaccinated and micro chipped. All dogs over six months will be spayed/neutered before re homed. In certain circumstances or acting on veterinary advice, a dog may not be spayed/neutered before re homed.
We ask for an adoption fee of €70 euros for a dog/puppy and €30 euros for a cat or kitten, this donation goes towards the animals being vaccinated and in some cases micro-chipped and any other expenses we incur in caring for the animals. All adoption fees can be paid via PayPal.
This is Bear, Bear was found at side of road at just 4 weeks old unable to fend for himself and scared until some kind people brought him to us.
Bear went straight into foster care with one of our volunteers and now is getting stronger every day.
Bear is a very lively little boy who will need experienced cat owners to be his new family, he can be a little head strong and feisty and this could and should change in time when a bond and trust is formed.
If you feel that you could show Bear how to trust us humans please contact us and we will be happy to arrange a meet and greet for you.
Last year our electricity bill for the winter months amounted to over €1700. We had quite a few sick animals that required heat lamps around the clock and our washing machine and dryer never stopped. The darker evenings during winter meant that indoor and outdoor lighting had to be switched on earlier.
We anticipate that this year’s bill for electricity will be something of the same order. With this in mind we are appealing to staff members in local schools and other workplaces to contribute just €1 each at your Friday morning break.
We will provide a poster and collection box for your staff room or canteen.
Anyone that would like to get involved please email email@example.com
Thank you all for your support

This poor little girl was found tied to someone’s gate with no collar-just a chain around her neck. We have called her Leah and she is about six months old-very nervous and on the thin side.
Leah is still very nervous but with the help of the wonderful volunteers, is gaining confidence in people and learning to enjoy life. She will need a home with experienced owners and a secure garden in order to help her feel safe.
She is a really lovely dog with a beautiful spirit. Please contact us if you would like to meet her.
Biscuit is one of Cocos pups-sadly her new home didn’t work out so she has found herself back with us looking again.
This little lady likes company all of her own and would suit an experienced owner who has had previous experience with dogs that could ensure she has ongoing training and daily exercise.
This makes her sound like a bit of a diva which she isn’t by any stretch, she is very much a loving and friendly happy go lucky pup who prefers human company to that of her furry pals.
She walks well on a lead and will happily meet and greet with other dogs but can be a little over confident when it comes to sharing a home with one, so we feel that Biscuit should to be the only dog of a household.
If you would like to meet Biscuit and see for yourself how special and sweet she is please do contact us on 0868032592 and we can arrange a convenient time for you to come and visit our kennel family.
Well have I got a treat for you all… Remember our dear young mummy cat Snow White and her teeny tiny 7 dwarves, well they are 4 weeks old today and have recently started weaning.
They are not quite ready for new homes as they still have another 4 weeks with us and injections to be had but if you do think that you would like to add to your family get in touch on 0868032592 and we can arrange a meeting and reservation.
Congratulations to Niamh Waldron-the winner of the signed Mayo Jersey! Hope you enjoy watching the match in style Niamh!
Michelle Courtney, a brilliant foster Mom to many MSPCA cats and dogs is a visual artist and printmaker. She has been working on some fundraiser pieces which she is very kindly donating for auction. So we have been given these 3 bright and colourful canine portraits to auction to the highest bidder. They are all limited edition original acrylic on canvas paintings that will not be replicated and will be signed by Michelle herself.
Bidding will start from today and will run until 9pm Wednesday 6th September 2017!
We have chosen to start the bidding at €15 euro and the highest bidder for each painting will be announced on Thursday 7th September 2017.
The winner will be notified via Pm and Payment method will then be arranged with you via either paypal/cheque /postal order or cash if local to Ballyhaunis and secure delivery scheduled.
This is a great opportunity to add to your art collection or maybe a birthday present, or perhaps dare we say a christmas present for that special someone you know who loves dogs.
Pictures will be numbered 1, 2 and 3 and bidding comments are to be placed under the photo of the piece you wish to bid for.
Good luck and happy bidding and remember everything raised goes straight back to the animals in our care.
