Collies

Collies aren’t “too intense” — they’re often just overwhelmed.

These dogs are incredibly intelligent, loyal, and emotionally aware. They don’t just live with people — they connect deeply with them. 💛

But that also means they depend on:
✔ Routine
✔ Mental stimulation
✔ A calm, predictable environment

When they end up in shelters, all of that disappears:
❌ No consistent structure
❌ Limited mental outlets
❌ Constant noise, movement, and unpredictability

Shelters can be overwhelming for any dog — but especially for sensitive, highly aware breeds like Collies, who are naturally tuned into their surroundings.

Because of this, they may:
• Bark excessively or seem “hyper”
• Become reactive to movement or noise
• Pace, spin, or struggle to settle
• Shut down or appear anxious

But here’s the truth 👇
Those behaviours are often stress responses — not their true personality.

Collies were bred to think, problem-solve, and work.
Without enough mental and physical stimulation, they can become bored, frustrated, and develop behavioral issues.

✨ In the right home, with structure and purpose, they transform into:
• Loyal companions
• Quick learners
• Gentle, intuitive family dogs

Let’s stop labeling them as “too much” — and start understanding what they actually need. 🐕💙
