The Boss of the Shelter Roy!

Hello everyone, for those of you who do not know me my name is Roy and I am the  resident dog at the Mayo SPCA sanctuary. I was found alone and emaciated when found close to death in a ditch in 2017 and volunteers at the MSPCA shelter worked hard to get me back to health. In time, I claimed my rightful place as Boss of the Shelter. I have a very important job here as resident security, rounder up of cats, mentor to puppies and general overseer of the daily activities of the shelter ♥️

…

Marian says: ‘This poor, poor boy was found in Kilmovea thanks to the kind person who contacted us. He is so emaciated he can barely stand but thankfully is safe now and can begin his long road back to health. We have called him Kilroy. A very special Gotcha day for the boss of the shelter, Roy (was Kilroy)!’ (May, 2018)

…

It took me months to trust people again but I got better day by day. My playful and trusting nature came out slowly. All the team was cheering me on and took really good care of me (January, 2019).

…

Soon enough I was loving life. Here I am with my Sunday girlfriend Bella in 2019. I love rounding up the cats.

…

Marian says: ‘This is how our resident dog Roy spends most of his days as he takes his job of rounding up the cats VERY seriously as you can see. Look at the focus, concentration and determination !!!!!
And the cats of course like all cats continue to do as
they please … a perfect world really for all involved.
We all love Roy with his quirky ways. Like a lot of
rescue animals we can never fully know his history and the pain and trauma he may have endured but he is safe and content now and very much loved by us all’ (January, 2022).

And I am the best big brother and mentor to puppies♥️🐾

…
Marian: ‘8 years ago, Roy was found alone, so emaciated he could hardly stand:( It took a long time to help build him up, physically and mentally, but gradually Roy decided that the shelter would be his forever ♥️
Today he spends his time playing ball, entertaining puppies, rounding up cats and making sure new arrivals are announced, loud and clear. He is cherished and dearly loved by every volunteer and he is a famous fixture here♥️
Happy Gotcha Day, Roy!♥️🐾 My right hand man he is a very special boy 🐕his first year of his life was so bad i remember his broken body and heart when he came in took 2 years to get him to the stage he would trust us but so worth all the time he is so loyal now❤️‘ (2026)
