Do you want to donate to MayoSPCA and need some inspiration?
We are asked regularly about the types of items that are most needed and useful to us.
As a Volunteer Run small animal shelter, we appreciate every donation. We often have over 100 cats in the sanctuary, so no matter how small or big of a donation we appreciate it so much.
Of course, we accept donations of money to help in the running of the shelter all year round – visit our Donations page for links to our Paypal and IDonate pages.
If you prefer to Donate physical items, we are grateful for any item donated. Here are some examples in case you are looking for inspiration for physical donations!

Food Donations:
Lots of people opt to drop into the shelter with donations, the cats and dogs are always eager to do inspections of food donations!

Cleaning Supplies and Cat Litter
Both are essential to the shelter. We appreciate any donations of laundry supplies, cleaning supplies, reusable or disposable puppy pads, newspaper, blue roll, and cat litter to keep the shelter clean for all its residents and volunteers.

Previously, Fionula’s forever family donated dog escape proof harnesses and warm winter coats, just in time for winter!
Lovely Eunice donated a brand new dog crate to the shelter 
One generous soul donated our much loved catio.
Jo dropped in a generous donation for the cats in the shelter.
Deposit Return Scheme Recycling Donations
We can now even accept your Deposit Return Scheme Recycling donations. We have an Orange Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) bin at our shelter and another in the University of Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome in Bekan, County Mayo.
Look at how Colin put bottles etc in black bags and donated them to us for recycling! It makes such a difference to us
Of course, you can return your containers at participating shops or through Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs). You can then donate the amount you receive for returning your containers to MayoSPCA directly, this saves our volunteers from bringing the recycling themselves.
Fiona collected and changed recycling
in order to donate food and essential cleaning supplies to local animal rescues, including MayoSPCA. Recently, pregnant cats, kittens, and new mammies have benefitted from this kindness.
Toys
Toys help with the development of growing puppies and kittens, as well as helping older dogs and cats.
