In summer 2025, this BONDED PAIR Scooby (male boxador) & Koda (female collie) arrived at the shelter, having always lived together. They were much loved dogs, but due to an unavoidable change in circumstances they were now looking for a new home together.
They were described by volunteers as:
‘Koda is 4 years old (spayed) and she is a loving energetic dog, typical of her breed, highly intelligent and knows lots of tricks. She loves to play with her ball…. but she is very particular about how that ball is thrown. I say this from experience and only high quality ball throwers should apply 
She loves to play and run around in the yard. She enjoys her walks and then completely chill out in the evening. She is also known to enjoy a good cuddle.

He is very food motivated so will be easy to train. He already knows his basics
“sit”, “paw” and “lie down”. He is looking for an expert belly rubber as this is his favorite way to pass the time

In October 2025, our volunteers took Koda and Scooby to Woofland which gives them the freedom and confidence to run, play and explore in a stress free environment!

“It’s been a busy week here in County Monaghan filled with celebrating Scooby and Koda’s one year anniversary of their gotcha day on 13/10 (also our daughter’s 10th birthday – she says them arriving on her birthday last year was the best present ever). They are doing so well and are so loved.” (October, 2026).
